I'm taking a day off to see if I can get back on track
I'm spending time in the Rockies, walking off the beaten path
I'd like to learn about myself, I'd like to know more about who I am
I'd like see the woods, I'd like to learn to give a damn
And the clock reads eight forty-five
And I still am standing upright
And I ask you for directions
But you still don't know where I'm going
I'm taking a breather to see if I can get all my stuff done
I'm wearing pajamas even up until and through the afternoon
I'd like to walk through California, I'd like to take a ride through Washington state
I'd like to see the world around me and I know I need to get away
And the clock reads nine thirty-two
And my packed bag sits by my shoes
Where would you go if you could go anywhere?
Would you want to see the world, would you see the sights?
Would your move be permanent, or would it be an accident?
And would you ever go back?
I'm a distance further and I'm trying to increase the space between
I am loving everything, the sounds, the people, everything I've seen
I am playing every picture as a movie dancing through my head
I am wishing that it could be real, and yet I sit and dream instead
